Relocation Update: 9/6/2021

On Sunday, August 29th, St. John's MCC unanimously approved the following motion during the Special Congregational Meeting:

"The Relocation Team moves to approve the Board of Directors to enter into a contract within the boundaries set for in the attached letter of intent for the property located at 4 N. Blount St. The Board of Directors shall also be allotted a budget not to exceed $75,000 to be allocated for upfit/moving costs. Amendments to these terms will require congregational approval at a special called congregational meeting."

The Relocation Team is now in the process of reviewing all of the contract documents. It has NOT been signed at this point.

Relocation Teams

Design/Upfit Team

Work with members of the team including partner agencies and the architect firm to design the interior of the facility. This will also include working with the realtor to receive and present proposals submitted by contractors.

Serving Period: September 2021 - November 2021

Time Commitment: 1 hour per week (average)

Logistics Team

Work with team members to coordinate the move from our current facility to the new facility. This team will work in collaboration with the Board of Directors, Staff, and other ministry leaders as we develop a plan and execution of the move.

Serving Period:

September 2021 - October 2021 (planning phase)

November - January 2021 (execution phase)

Time commitment: 1 hour per week (average)

Facility Services Team

This team will collaborate with partner agencies and prepare needs and submit RFP’s for services within the new facility. (Cleaning, administrative services, etc)

CEC Services Team

This team will coordinate the transition of our Community Engagement Center. Initial phases of this will include needs assessment and determining how we can best serve the community with the resources we have access to. This team will also be responsible for working with all other teams to ensure that CEC services are accounted for in planning. A sub-committee within this team will be formed to work directly with AASC regarding pantry services.
