A description of services:
The Injury & Drug Prevention Community Nurse (IDPCN), employed by Wake County Human Services, provides direct nursing services, immunizations & STD testing and treatment in community based settings to individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and homelessness who are at high risk for overdose, STD’s, and other chronic health problems. As part of the Wake County Drug Overdose Prevention and Tobacco Use Initiative, the nurse also works collaboratively with community organizations such as Love Wins Community Engagement Center, NC Harm Reduction Coalition outreach workers, Healing Transitions, and Certified Peer Support Specialists to identify and connect those in need with medical care and community-based resources.
4th Thursday of every month from 12n-3p
