Beginning on July 9th, Cindy Norton leads us on a multi-step journey to cultivate awareness of our spiritual being. Learn to use one or more of the more than 100 facets of our spiritual existence to reveal our innermost being.
Some of those facets include: Honesty, Transience, Adversity, Gratitude, Relationships, Dreams, Alleviating suffering, Animal wisdom, Trust and hope, Element of air, The dance of play, The body, Community, Power, Eroticism, War experience, Creativity and imagination.
Tool Time at Ten meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in the William Stokes Friendship Hall at St. John's MCC.
Most of us have heard the term revival as it relates to activities of the church though many of us may not fully understand what that really means. By definition, a revival can be described as an improvement in the condition or strength of something. As a verb, it can be described this way: A restoration to use, acceptance, activity, or vigor after a period of obscurity or quiescence.
Through this week we are hosting our Summer Revival - Radical Inclusion. It is our desire to provide a Revival experience that opens our hearts and our minds to experience the divine in EVERYTHING and EVERYONE; to experience, embody, and live out LOVE in a new way - a radically inclusive way!
Come and join us this week as we take this journey together towards Church in a New Way - towards experiencing the God within each and every one of us.
You're invited to attend one or all of the special events we have planned for our Summer Revival Week. Eight days in June....
Adriel Hortiales, Danielle Cortez, and Devin Lentz
Ever feel like “church” was just too stuffy and that you couldn’t be yourself? Or wonder why you had to make it to this structure with a steeple and hard wooden benches every week?
We are very clear that the “church” is the people within a community that come together to share love and promote one another through support, growth, and genuine care. Come experience fellowship with us as we meet at My Way Tavern for a time of friendship, fellowship, and experiencing church somewhere other than that building we visit on Sundays and holidays! After all, Jesus shared a meal with his friends before his death and instructed them to remember him each time we sit down for a meal.

Church in a new way!
Each and every week we experience the Divine in new ways and through some not-so-traditional ways. We know and believe that we truly experience spirituality in EVERYTHING that we do, therefore this Worship Experience invites us to live outside of those man-made boxes and grow in the truth that we experience God in ourselves and within all of those around us. We are wonderfully created in God’s image and we come to celebrate that through self-expression in the way we were designed to do so - UNIQUELY.
In continuing our dive into "Radical Inclusion" we are offering a Multi-cultural worship experience. Come join us for an evening of worship as we experience God though various cultural backgrounds and celebrate ALL of who we are. If we are to truly embrace this Radical Inclusion, we must be willing to step outside of our own tradition to experience God through the eyes of those around us.
Drag - a gift given by God! Say what…? We are each blessed with gifts that push us to be the best versions of ourselves and that reach others right where they are to share a message of love with them and Drag certainly is NO exception to this. Join us as we convert our sanctuary into a Drag and Talent stage raising awareness that we share Love in ALL that we do. This event is also to raise money for the LGBT Center of Raleigh. All tips and donations will go toward this fundraiser.
This widely-acclaimed workshop exploring Transgender issues is co-sponsored by the LGBT Center of Raleigh and St. John's MCC. All are invited to attend this ground-breaking study led by Devin Lentz, the Director of the Transgender Initiative of the Center.
