St. John's Ministries
Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
"Therefore GO and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
end of the age."
St. John's MCC Church invites you to get connected! We have an abundance of ministries and groups that give you the perfect opportunity to get involved.
We want your relationship with God to be a full one and your fellowship with others to be an enriching experience. Don't be shy, step right in--serve and be served through all we offer. So come on and join us as we praise God and share our lives with one another.
“Now there are a variety of gifts, but the same Spirit; and
there are varieties of service, but the same Lord.”
1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Ministry of Social Justice

Social Justice offers support through physical assistance and spiritual fellowship through the following ministry groups: Lunch Boxes of Love, Food and Clothing Ministry, and Non-Profit Service Outreach.
Ministry of Congregational Care
The Ministry of Congregational Care offers support for the Christian journey that leads us through particular challenges and life situations through the Intercessory Prayer team, the Prayer, Care and Share Ministry, the Deacon’s Ministry, and HIV/AIDS Resourcing.
Deacon’s Ministry
Based on the Biblical principles outlined in 1 Timothy 3, the Ministry of the Deaconate is the service ministry of the church where persons who feel called to service in and among God’s people are trained in the basic rudiments of the work of the church, the fundamentals of peer listening, presence in a time of need, as well as care for members and regular attenders of the church. Those who feel called to this ministry should schedule an appointment with the Pastor.
Ministry of Administration and Communication
The Ministry of Administration and Communication is responsible for church administration and communications inside and outside the walls of St. John’s MCC, including office staffing, our weekly email newsletter “The Connection,” our website team and the North Carolina Council of Churches.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is dedicated to guiding and directing the business and administration functions of St. John’s MCC while being good stewards of the resources God has provided us. Board members are elected from the membership of St. John’s MCC at annual Congregational meetings and welcome your input.
Stewardship Ministry
The Stewardship Ministry assists the Board of Directors and the Pastor with their joint responsibility of raising the funds through the congregation to support the budget and ministries of the church. The ministry communicates throughout the year the biblical teachings around stewardship and the central role of stewardship plays in the life of a maturing Christian disciple.
Lay Delegates
Lay Delegates represent the congregation of St. John's MCC at the MCC Regional and General/World Jubilee Conferences. They carry the vote of St. John’s lay people to these conferences for business and spiritual issues concerning the denomination as a whole.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees maintains the facilities and grounds of the ministry complex and all property owned by the church. The BOT also analyzes the growth of church membership to ensure adequate space is available so the glory of God reaches all.
